Windows Update helpt uw computer up-to-date te houden met de nieuwste systeemupdates en stuurprogramma's.

Open Windows Update door op de knop Start te klikken. Typ Update in het zoekvak en klik in de lijst met resultaten op Windows Update.

Klik in het linkerdeelvenster op Controleren op updates en wacht terwijl Windows zoekt naar de meest recente updates voor uw computer. Als wordt gemeld dat er updates beschikbaar zijn of dat u de updates moet controleren, klikt u op het bericht om de updates weer te geven en te selecteren.

Klik in de lijst op een update voor meer informatie. Schakel de selectievakjes in van de updates die u wilt installeren en klik daarna op OK. Klik op Updates installeren. Open Apparaatbeheer door op de knop Start te klikken, op Configuratiescherm te klikken, op Systeem en beveiliging te klikken en vervolgens onder Systeem op Apparaatbeheer te klikken. Klik op het tabblad Stuurprogramma, klik op Stuurprogramma bijwerken en volg de instructies. In de veilige modus wordt een beperkte versie van Windows gestart. Alleen de basisbestanden en -stuurprogramma's die nodig zijn om Windows uit te voeren worden gestart.

Dat kan handig zijn om softwareproblemen op te lossen. Als een programma bijvoorbeeld wordt uitgevoerd zodra u Windows start en niet kan worden afgesloten, kunt u Windows starten in de veilige modus en daarna het programma proberen te verwijderen.

Verwijder alle cd's, dvd's en andere media van uw computer en start deze opnieuw op. Klik vervolgens op de knop Start , klik op de pijl naast de knop Afsluiten en klik vervolgens op Opnieuw starten.

Als uw computer zich in de veilige modus bevindt, ziet u in de hoeken van het scherm de woorden Veilige modus. Als u de veilige modus wilt verlaten, start u de computer opnieuw op en laat u Windows normaal starten. Sommige fouten worden mogelijk veroorzaakt door problemen met de harde schijf of het RAM-geheugen van uw computer en niet door problemen met Windows of andere software op uw computer.

Windows 7 bevat hulpprogramma's waarmee bepaalde hardwaregerelateerde fouten kunnen worden gevonden en opgelost. Bij ernstige fouten dient u mogelijk contact op te nemen met de fabrikant voor ondersteuning. Open Computer door op de knop Start te klikken en vervolgens op Computer te klikken.

Klik met de rechtermuisknop op het station dat u wilt controleren en klik daarna op Eigenschappen. Klik op het tabblad Extra en daarna onder Foutcontrole op Nu controleren. Als u problemen met bestanden en mappen die bij de scan worden gedetecteerd automatisch wilt repareren, selecteert u Fouten in het bestandssysteem automatisch corrigeren. Selecteer voordat u een uitgebreide controle uitvoert de optie Beschadigde sectoren zoeken en repareren. Bij deze scan wordt geprobeerd fysieke fouten op het station zelf te vinden en te repareren. Hierdoor kan deze scan veel langer duren. Als u zowel op fysieke als bestandsfouten wilt controleren, selecteert u zowel Fouten in het bestandssysteem automatisch oplossen als Beschadigde sectoren zoeken en repareren. Open het hulpprogramma geheugendiagnose door op de knop Start te klikken en vervolgens op Configuratiescherm te klikken.

Typ geheugen in het zoekvak en klik op Problemen met het geheugen van uw computer diagnosticeren. Kies wanneer u het hulpprogramma wilt uitvoeren. Als u ervoor kiest om de computer opnieuw op te starten en het hulpprogramma meteen uit te voeren, sla dan eerst uw werk op en sluit alle actieve programma's. Wanneer u Windows opnieuw opstart, wordt het hulpprogramma Geheugencontrole automatisch uitgevoerd. Joined Jan 13, Messages 4. This stop error would not let me use the Recovery disk and would not let me boot into safe mode. I contact Sony and Microsoft with this issue. Well if I did I would have not been talking to them at all I would have use the Windows 7 to try to fix the problem or just installed Windows 7.

Lets say if your system is lock with a BSOD with this stop error 0xc1f5 you will find it very difficult to fix. But I did find a way. Microsoft and Sony were unable to help so this left me on my own. This did remove the file but still had the stop error 0xc1f5. This was able to erase the HDD enough to remove the stop error 0xc1f5. Now I was able to use the Recovery Disk to diagnostic the system.
