This is a parented class. Each child attends this program with ONE parent or guardian. Check out their web site for more information on this amazing program. The focus of the program will be on skill development and fundamentals that will help the children be confident and motivated moving forward in sport.

This is an outdoor program which will still include both Soccer and Ball skills. We are very excited about the changes and feel this will be a fun program with continuous action and stimulating drills.

Teams will be formed, and parent volunteers will act as coaches and assistant coaches. We will provide you with an excellent handbook and resources that will make it easy to follow and implement.

Sportball for Pre-schoolers This provides children with an opportunity for independent learning and autonomy among other social and developmental benefits.

Our trained and certified coaches introduce pre-school and elementary children to the fundamental skills behind 9 popular sports. All rights reserved. Students of all levels learn to grasp concepts on their own and take full ownership of their success.

This class will be an exploration of art and an introduction to different mediums. Each child will learn techniques with pencil, charcoal, pastels and acrylic paint.

We will spend two weeks on each art form and complete a piece of art to take home. Students can pick from pictures provided to create their masterpieces! Five weeks of sport specific drills and games will be devoted to each sport in this unique Sportball program. Sportball provides all necessary equipment; however, children can bring their own Lacrosse stick if they have one.

Ball Hockey The sport of ball hockey is a sport anyone can enjoy. Regardless, if you are a high-level ice hockey player or have never strapped on the blades, this sport is for you. During this program your children will learn passing, shooting, stick handling, and teamwork through drills, activities, and games. A Game for Everyone! This introductory session will cover rallying, volleying and serving. The program is led by a Tennis Canada certified coach and will also cover the rules and etiquette of the sport.

Important skills are learned through interactive lessons and role play that help make both you and your child more confident when they are at home alone.

First Aid for Kids teaches students how to respond to medical emergencies, such as cuts, burns, choking or broken bones. Join us for another fun week of Schools Out! This will be available from April 5th-9th. Schools Out! Each day we will break their time into two main components: a STEM project and a physical activity. These projects and activities will include rocket ships, egg canons, spring bootcamp, scavenger hunt, and more!

Blended learning is a combination of in-class, face-to-face instruction with online instruction. Typically, theory and information are conveyed to participants outside of the classroom through an online component. This allows for the in-class component to concentrate on skill development and the application of theory.

A line dance is a choreographed dance with a repeated sequence of steps in which a group of people dance in one or more lines or rows. There are no partners and anyone of any age and gender can line dance. In the class, all participants will face the same direction, and execute the pattern of steps at the same time. Where will it be? The City is exploring a few locations with accessibility and growth opportunity for our community and region — the best location to meet the recreational vision and best serve our residents.

We will update you once a location is chosen. How will this facility be funded? Phase 1 of the project is focused on an additional arena, seating and leisure ice surface. These funds came from recreation levies over the last two annual budgets. Our goal is to move forward with this project without raising taxes to cover capital costs of building the facility. We are pursuing government funding for future phases.

Stay tuned over the next number of months for some exciting updates! A new multi-purpose facility will provide positive impacts in respect to sport, leisure and economic spinoffs in the community and region.
